Commercial Gum Removal for High-Traffic Surfaces
Steam and hot-water gum removal for sidewalks, concourses and campus concrete.
- Commercial only
- Licensed and insured
- Serving DeKalb County
Overview
What commercial gum removal covers
Gum is the most visible form of soiling on commercial pedestrian surfaces. It darkens as it ages, holds dirt and remains after ordinary washing because it bonds to the concrete rather than sitting on it.
We remove gum with heat and targeted pressure as part of a walkway cleaning scope or as a standalone service on high-traffic sites.

What we clean under this scope

- School entrances and campus walks
- Stadium and arena concourses
- Transit and bus loop platforms
- Parking garage stairwells and lobbies
- Restaurant patios and entries
- Municipal and park walkways
How the work is done
Method, sequencing and site conditions
Heat does the work
Hot water and steam soften the bond so gum releases from the surface instead of being chipped away. That protects the concrete and produces a clean result without leaving shadow marks where the gum sat.
Standalone or bundled
On most properties gum removal is bundled into a scheduled sidewalk or concourse cleaning. Properties with heavy gum accumulation sometimes schedule dedicated gum passes between full cleanings.
Working with us
From first call to recurring maintenance
- 01
Call and describe the property
Reach us at (404) 313-8900. We ask about property type, approximate square footage, surfaces, access and how the site operates during the day.
- 02
On-site assessment
We walk the property to identify surface types, substrate condition, soiling, water sources, drainage and staging. This is what makes a commercial quote accurate.
- 03
Written scope and schedule
You get a scope that lists exactly which areas are included, the method used on each, the sequence across buildings or levels, and the working window.
- 04
Work performed around operations
Crews work nights, early mornings, weekends or phased by building so parking, entrances, trash service and tenant access stay available.
- 05
Walkthrough and maintenance cycle
We walk the finished work with you and recommend a realistic recurring cycle for the areas that need it, rather than selling the same frequency to every property.

Questions
About commercial gum removal
Does gum removal damage concrete?
No. Heat-based removal releases the gum without gouging or scarring the surface, which is a risk with scrapers and aggressive mechanical methods.
Are gum shadows removable?
In most cases yes — the discolored ring around an old gum spot lifts with hot water treatment, though very old spots on porous concrete can leave a faint mark.
